What does "data only" mean?
Quick answer
A data-only plan gives you mobile internet, but no phone number for normal calls or SMS. You can still call and message people through internet apps like WhatsApp.
Included
- Mobile internet for apps, maps, email and browsing.
- Calls and messages through apps such as WhatsApp, FaceTime or Telegram.
- Hotspot, on most plans.
Not included
- A local phone number.
- Normal phone calls and SMS.
Most Olysim plans are data only. If a plan includes calls or a number, the plan page says so before you buy.
Common questions
Can I get SMS codes on a data-only eSIM?
No. SMS codes go to the phone number they were sent to, usually your normal SIM.
