Physical SIM card

Using the travel SIM card with your Indian SIM (dual SIM)

Quick answer

If your phone has two SIM slots, or one slot and an eSIM, you can keep your Indian SIM on for calls and SMS and use the Olysim SIM card for data.

Which setup do you have?

  • Two SIM slots (many Android phones): Indian SIM in slot 1, Olysim SIM in slot 2.
  • One SIM slot and an eSIM (most iPhones sold in India): if your Indian number is on an eSIM, put the Olysim SIM in the slot. If your Indian SIM is a card, you will need to swap them.
  • One SIM slot only: swap the cards, and keep your Indian SIM safe until you are home.

Set Olysim for data

  • iPhone: Settings > Mobile Service > Mobile Data > choose the Olysim line.
  • Android: Settings > SIM manager or SIMs > Mobile data > choose Olysim.

Keep roaming off on your Indian SIM

Turn Data Roaming off for your Indian SIM, so all data comes from Olysim. Calls and SMS on your Indian number use your Indian provider's roaming, so check its prices.

Common questions

Will I get calls on my Indian number?

Only through your Indian provider's roaming. Olysim gives you data, not calls on your Indian number.

Can WhatsApp stay on my Indian number?

Yes. WhatsApp keeps your number and simply uses the Olysim data.
